As a center of attraction of a lot of visitors, Halkidiki has unique nature with isolated bays, crystal clear sea, beautiful islets and villages with remarkable traditional architecture. It is easily accessible from Thessaloniki, the second largest Greek city. Halkidiki is the most popular tourist destination in north Greece. It is a peninsula with three small peninsulas, known as the three legs of Halkidiki. The first leg is Kassandra and has popular tourist resorts with organized beaches. The second peninsula is Sithonia, with less organized resorts and more secluded coves. The third peninsula, Mount Athos, is a close monastic community where entrance is allowed only to men and after special permission. Very interesting is a boat trip from Ouranoupolis that makes the tour of Mount Athos, a region with lovely beaches and impressive Byzantine monasteries.

Kalithea is a modern seaside town on the east coast of the Kassandra, way up in northeastern Greece. There’s a lively main strip with late-night clubs and stylish bars, plus a charming old town where tucked-away tavernas serve up authentic Greek cuisine. The long, sandy beach is backed by luxury hotels, and while it’s all go here, you’re just a 5-minute drive from the old-world charm of Afitos village.

Halkidiki can boast an amazing 550km of coastline, featuring a thousand different beaches, some rocky and imposing, others offering an endless expanse of golden sand.
